The Caribbean Area of British American Tobacco Caribbean & Central America is made up of the following companies.

Carisma Marketing Services Limited (CMS)

The Carisma Marketing Services Limited business unit is in charge of providing marketing support to the British American Tobacco Group brands marketed in the French overseas territories, the Netherland Antilles, and the smaller Caribbean markets. It has offices in Trinidad, from where it coordinates commercialisation in the 26 territories that make up this business unit. CMS also provides support to Demerara Tobacco Company Limited in Guyana.

CMS is made up of the following markets:

  • The French overseas territories - Guadeloupe, French Guyana, Martinique, and French St. Martin
  • The Dutch markets - Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, and Dutch St. Maarten
  • The Caricom territories - Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Granada, Haiti, Montserrat, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Suriname, and Turks & Caicos.

Winfield, Peter Stuyvesant, Rothmans, Craven “A”, Benson & Hedges, Dunhill, Lucky Strike, Vogue, and Pall Mall are among the brands marketed by CMS.

Carreras Limited (Jamaica)

Carreras Limited has been operating in Jamaica since 1962. British American Tobacco Group owns 50.4% of the share capital and shares are listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange.

Carreras Limited has administrative offices in Twickenham Park, Spanish Town, and St. Catherine, and the company markets the Craven “A”, Matterhorn, Rothmans, and Dunhill International brands.

West Indian Tobacco

ABOUT US

The West Indian Tobacco Company Limited (West Indian Tobacco) is a public company whose shares are listed on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange and held by over 3000 shareholders. The company was established in 1904 by Mr. John Phillips, businessman and founder of the tobacco business in Trinidad and Tobago. In 1948, the manufacturing plant was transitioned from Port-of-Spain to Champ Fleurs.

Currently this plant supplies 14 brands in 172 stock keeping units (SKU’s) to 17 CARICOM Members and Associate countries. These include: Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands.

The Company’s mission is to sustain its market leadership position and to be the number one manufacturing centre in the Caribbean.  Locally we distribute through third party  distribution to approximately 7000 outlets around Trinidad and Tobacco. Our local product portfolio is made up of three main brands, Dunhill, DuMaurier and Broadway in 14 stock keeping units.

Demerara Tobacco Company Limited (Guyana)

Demerara Tobacco Co. Limited was established in Guyana in 1934. The company went public in 1960, with shares available for local investors. In 1997, production was transferred to West Indian Tobacco in Trinidad.

Demerara Tobacco markets British American Tobacco brands in Guyana, and is an active member of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).
